Bio

Thomas "Tommy" Joseph Chudej, 49, of Lacy-Lakeview, died Saturday Feb 9, 2002. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb 11 at Bellmead Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead with Father Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Tommy was born Sept. 12, 1952, in McLennan County. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1972 to 1974 and was stationed at Barstow and Camp Pendleton, CA. He was employed at the V.A. Medical Center in Waco and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Tommy is a longtime musician having formed his first band "The Spartans" at age 14. His love of polkas and waltzs took over and he formed "Tommy Chudej and the Thythm Tones." After his service in the military, he continued his love for music forming and playing with various bands throughout the Waco area. His current band "Country Expressions" is well known throughout this area. His is survived by his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Jason Prellop, of Round Rock; parents, Tony and Mary Jane Chudej of Waco; sister, Linda and her husband, Lary Vahue of Temple; his twin brother, Anthony and his wife, Rosemary Chudej, of Seaton and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Barry Brott, Tim Urbanek, J.R. Vrazel, Jerry Haisler, Howard Stojnik and Ed Klepac. A special thanks to all of you who supported his music. Waco Times Herald Obituary
