married (1) William Jackson Bennett and (2) D W Florence Dallas Morning News 9 Jul 1958 Mrs. Mattie Florence Special to The News MESQUITE, Texas. - Mrs. Mattie Bennett Florence, 90, a resident of Dallas County for 72 years, died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital after a short illness. A native of Tennessee, she moved to Long Creek community, now Mesquite, with her family as a child. Following the deat_ of her first husband, William J. Bennett, she moved to Irving for about 20 years. In 1920 she married the late David W. Florence and moved to Mesquite. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Maude Lively of Irving, a son, Emmett Florence of Mesquite; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Double funeral services will be held for Mrs. Bennett and her nephew, Frank Reedy, who died Monday, at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Clayton-Anderson Funeral Chapel in Mesquite. The Rev. Bill Biggs will officiate. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery. Children: Fred Jackson Bennett Maude Maranda Bennett Lively
