Bio

The Wellington Leader Miss Mable Goodson, 71, a resident of Thomas Nursing Center, died there at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, September 10. She had lived there 7 years. Graveside rites were held at the Olympus Cemetery in northeast Childress County at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mickey Fugitt, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was under the direction of Kelso-McCoy Funeral Home. Miss Goodson was born October 5, 1905 in Childress County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Goodson. She lived for many years in the Olympus community. She was a Baptist. She graduated from Wellington (Texas) High School with the Class of 1926. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Richersin of Childress and Mrs. Velma Walker of Ft. Worth; and one brother, Bill Goodson of Spearman.
