Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” February 12, 1949: William Henry Miler, 56*, of 1327 Stellar Avenue, died at 9:50 a.m. He had been ill several months. He was born June 23, 1889, in Osceola. He had lived in Ottumwa 22 years. He was a painter and was formerly employed at the air base. He was a veteran of World War I. He leaves his wife, Della, whom he married March 20, 1939; three daughters, Mrs. Blanche (George) Brookshire of Oklahoma, Mrs. Myrtle (Lawrence) Gillen of Moline and Mrs. Marjorie (William) Correll of Marysville, Calif.; two sons, Galen and Keith of Ottumwa; two stepsons, Roscoe White of Linby and Eugene White of Des Moines; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Agnes, in 1935 [sic]. Services are planned for 3 p.m. Monday at the Community Funeral Home, with the Rev. Everett R. Major in charge of the service. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct burial rites.
