Funeral Services for Freeman Edward Zwahr, 55, of Needville, were held at 3PM Monday at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville with burial afterwards in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Rosenberg. He died Saturday, May 21st 1983 at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond, although people who found the body in the road ditch near his home said he was already dead before the ambulance arrived. He was a member of American Legion Post 271 of Rosenberg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bar-b-queing for large groups as he had done for several weddings, anniversaries and holiday parties. He and his wife also enjoyed dancing and went to several dances with friends. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nelrose Zwahr of Needville; Bobby Gene Zwahr and wife Mary of Needville, Ricky Edward Zwahr and wife Judy of Brown Community and Rita Kay Hedt and husband Calvin of Guy. A sister, Mrs. Edna Chaloupka of Guy; Three brothers, Clarence Zwahr & Ernest Zwahr of Danbury and Jimmie Zwahr of Rosenberg. Plus seven grandchildren. Michelle, Bobby Jr., Joshua & Travis (all Zwahr's) and Calvin Jr., Duayne & Darrin (all Hedt's).
