Wife of John Edd Long ABILENE REPORTER-NEWS (Abilene, Texas) - Fri - 13 Dec 1963 "Mrs. Altie Long Succumbs at 39" BIG SPRING -- Mrs. Altie Loleta Long, 39, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday in a Big Spring hospital. Her home was at 1011 W. 8th here. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Nalley-Pickle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Five-Mile Cemetery in Dawson County. Elder R. B. Howze will officiate. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Born July 27, 1924, at Coahoma, Mrs. Long moved here in 1959 from Alamogordo, N. M. She had been in ill health for a year, critically ill the past 10 days. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. C. B. Statham of Gail; five daughters, Mrs. Joyce Faye Hobbs, Billie Sharon, Mary Alice, Vada Irene, and Barbara Jean, all of Big Spring; one son, Thomas Lee Long of Big Spring; one grandchild; three brothers, W. F. Statham, Leroy Statham, and J. C. Statham, all of Big Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lewellen of Big Spring and Mrs. Malone Kropp of Gail.
