Grace is Maude's Niece. Grace's Father is Maude's sister. ∼ Grace Vada Harper Rice Obituary Grace V. Rice, 99, of Ridgefield , died Feb. 21, 2008, at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Rice was born Jan. 29, 1909, in Hickman, NE. She lived in Nebraska until 1938 when she and her husband Albert "Bert" Rice moved to Ridgefield. They lived in Ridgefield for 70 years. She enjoyed being with her family and playing dominos. She grew a vegetable and flower garden and had a garden until last year. She sponsored Latin American child care and was a member of Mountain View Christian Center. Rice had worked in canneries with the Washington Co-op. Survivors include her daughter, Alena McCuistion , of Ridgefield, 14 grandchildren, four step- grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 19 great-greatgrandchildren. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rice, daughters Betty Ruth Fields and Alberta Jean Heasley, grandsons Wilson Heasley and Larry Fields, a sister, and two brothers. a funeral service will begin Sat. March 1, 11 a.m., Mountain View Christian Center, with burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver. Layne's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
