Bio

I would like to add her siblings since I cannot find a grave for all of them. Siblings: Sarah Jane McMillen Corrigan ((1834-1903); James Frances McMIllen (1837-1899) FAG #130839292; Henry McMillen (1838-1905); Thomas McMIllen 1840-1923); John McMillen 1840-1904) FAG #49851837; William Robert McMillen (1845-1920). Her father was Robert McMillen born 1800 of Antrim, Ireland. Her mother was Sarah Abernethy born about 1807 in Ireland. I cannot find a grave for Sarah They were Methodists and left Belfast in the late 1820's and arrived in New York. They immigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1928. The 1880 Census lists her children: August Meinke 11; Mary Meinke 4; Frank Meinke 2; and William Meinke 1 month. There was one more child - Henry Meinke born Sep 1884, death date unknown. By the 1900 Census she is married to Hugh Stevens and lists only 2 living children. The Nebraska marriage records 1855-1908 confirm that Robert McMillen is her father. Her mother Sarah died in Canada in 1865, and Robert, daughter Susanna, and son John moved to Stanton Nebraska in 1870. Robert died in Stanton in 1886 and John and his wife moved to Texas. Susanna died in Stanton.
