Bio
Celebration of life services for Donald Kelley, 82, of Earth and Lubbock, will be Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Earth, Texas. Interment will follow at Earth Cemetery under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Family visitation will be Sunday, May 4, at the Ellis Funeral Home in Earth from 4 to 6 p.m. Donald went to his Heavenly home on Friday, May 2, 2014. He was born Sept. 29, 1931, to Guy and Fay Kelley of Earth, Texas. He attended and graduated from Springlake-Earth School. He married Ann Clayton on April 29, 1950, and they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. He was a longtime resident and farmer of Earth, Texas, before retiring to Lubbock. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Guy F. Kelley. He is survived by his wife; and three daughters: Annita Taylor and husband Doug of Amarillo; Donita Clark and husband Roger of Lubbock; and Connie Jaquess and husband David of Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Brian Taylor and wife, Abigail, Anna Taylor, Joshua Clark and wife Terisa, Kellye Turner and husband Chad, Travis Jaquess and wife Rebecca, Julie Liniger and husband Bobby; and eight great-grandchildren: Hudson Paul Taylor, Katie Clark, Knatalye and Alexis Turner, Abigail and Tyler Jaquess, David and Katie Liniger; four sisters: Freda and husband Charles Woodburn, Jean Flowers Smith, Laquita and husband Donnie Dent, Jo and husband Roy Chapman; and sister-in-law, Jane Kelley; many nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers-Antonio Ward and Jose Barron. The family wishes to express gratitude to the wonderful staff of Comfort Keepers and to Hospice of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock or to New Life Ranch Christian Camp (160 New Life Ranch Dr. Colcord, OK 74338).
