Popp Of Abbott Dies On Hunting Trip Eugene F. Popp, 52, of Abbott died of an apparent heart attack Saturday while hunting near Mason in South Texas. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. in Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro. Rev. Doyle Darwin officiated with burial in Ridge Park Cemetery. Mr. Popp was owner and operator of the Popp Grocery in Abbott. He was born in Abbott and had lived there all of his life. He married Odette Kinnedy in 1944. He was a member of the C.M.B. Church in West. Surviving are his wife; his mother, Mrs. W.O. Fritsch of Abbott; one son, Freddy Popp of Abbott; one sister, Mrs. Garnett Hoyle of Brownwood; and two brothers, Billy Popp of Waco and Edmund Popp of Corpus Christi.
