Johnny Edward Powell, age 68, of Floydada, was called home to be with the Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Celebration of Johnny's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada with Eric Enriquez officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Floydada. Johnny was born on June 9, 1945 in Anna, Texas to the late Mr. & Mrs. George Fletcher Powell. Johnny served in the armed forces for two years. He received Honorable declaration medals for Rifle Sharp Shooter and National Defense Service medal. Johnny drove semi-trucks for most of his life. He enjoyed playing dominoes, John Wayne movies and watching old westerns, he also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers with his nephew Tony Powell. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Hazel Powell. Survivors include two daughters; Tiffany Stephens and Robin Powell, six grandchildren, Chance Powell, Jordan Martinez, Joey Martinez, Dustin Cloud, Kylar Eschebacher and Miranda Holland, four great grandchildren; Trace Powell, Gage Powell, Connor Cloud, and Cole Jarrett, six sisters; Linda Turner, Shirley Emert, Wanda Gilbreath, Diane Hill, Deannie Powell and Pam Enriquez and one honorary sister; Peggy Hill, two brothers; George Powell, and Kenny Powell, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
