Bio

Services for Richard Cook 70, of Post were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the Hudman Funeral Home Chapel with Archie Gill officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites was in Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. Cook died April 22, 2014 in Lubbock. Richard was born on Oct. 9, 1943 in Columbus, Texas to John and Dorothy (Kotrola) Cook. He worked in New Mexico as a field technician for El Paso Natural Gas for many years. He later moved to Post, where he was raised, and worked for MTC Corp for 10 years before his retirement. He married Bettie Hill on January 14, 1997 in Carlsbad, NM. She preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 2010. Survivors include: one daughter, Melissa (Missy) Davis of Carlsbad, NM and two sons, Cody Cook of Post and Johnny Mack Brown of Wellman; one brother, Ronnie "Fuddy" Cook of Cherokee, OK, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
