Bio
Eleanor Lydia Clemmer entered into rest, following a lengthy illness. She was 88 years old, born in 1926 to David & Lydia Ford in Red Bluff, CA, and raised in Oroville, CA. She became the wife of H.E. "Gene" Dennis and over the years they lived in Anchorage, Alaska, Zuni Pueblo, N.M, Deming, N.M and Yuba City, CA. Shortly after moving to Magalia, CA to enjoy retirement and do some fishing together, Gene passed away unexpectedly. Some years later she married Harold Clemmer. They enjoyed traveling too, until Harold became ill. Eleanor lovingly cared for him through his lengthy illness until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her oldest son David Dennis. She is survived by her daughter Colleen McBroom of Chico, son Gene Dennis, Jr. of Cape Cod, Mass., and son Robert Steven Dennis of Paradise, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Over the years Eleanor worked as a telephone operator, bookkeeper and cashier. She enjoyed making ceramics, and had many friends. It was her wish that no funeral services be held for her. She is interred at the historic Oroville Cemetery beside her beloved Gene Dennis, Sr. . Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on Apr. 22, 2014
