Wife of Ellen A. Kolar, age 81 of Waco, passed away Saturday, July 5, 1997 in Waco. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. July 6 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. July 7 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, with Rev. Angelo Bertini and Rev. Timothy Vaverek con-celebrating. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Kolar was born December 8, 1915 in Waco, the daughter of Fritz and Anna Wedeking. She married Louis J. Kolar on October 15, 1940 in Waco. She has resided in McLennan County all of her life and has been an active member of the community. She has held many offices in the PTA, County Extension, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Joseph's Altar Society and Ladies of Charity. She also volunteered at Caritas and Geneva Hall. She was a charter organizer for the Women's Division of the Heart of Texas Fair. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was the church organist. She is remembered by her family as a "professional volunteer." She is preceded in death by four brothers, William Wedeking, Fritz Wedeking, Charlie Wedeking and Henry Wedeking; and five sisters, Matilda Brinkman, Melinda Pfeffer, Annie Hessel, Marie Chupik and Rosa Wedeking. She is survived by her husband, Louis J. Kolar, of Waco; three daughters, Barbara Rodgers and her husband Raymond of San Diego, California, Bettye Hill and her husband Albert of Baytown and Marjorie Kolar of Waco; five grandchildren, Tina Hill of Irving, Scott Hill of Baytown, Kim Hill of Austin, Greg Rodgers of San Diego, California, and Amy Conner of Waco; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Scott Hill, Greg Rodgers, Alfred Meinzer, Jr., Stephen Chupik, Ronnie Pustejovsky and John Ondrej. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
