Mother's maiden name: Singleton ~~~ Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro for Jessie Mae Lawless, 84, of Brawley, who died Wednesday in Royal Convalescent Hospital in Brawley. Mrs. Lawless was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Marlow, Okla. She married Roy W. Lawless in El Reno, Okla., in 1939. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She was an expert seamstress and made her own clothes, according to family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Lawless, on Dec. 25, 1974; and her sister, Leora H. Jones . Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Harold L. and Kathleen Burns of Bakersfield; four nieces, one nephew and other family members. Imperial Valley Press Jan 3, 2001
