Army Service No. (ASN): 38533684 Clayton Yates, 24, was killed in action in France on October 26, the war department notified his wife, the former Miss Ann Gerik, daughter of Vince Gerik, on November 4. A member of the infantry, Yates was in action in France since July, 1943. He was inducted into the army on September 30, 1943, and after receiving training at Camp Fannin, Tyler, Texas, was shipped to England. Surviving besides his wife are his two-year-old daughter, Dorothy Ann, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Yates of Hillsboro. Mrs. Yates and her daughter live in Bellmead.
