Belleville (KS) Telescope Nov. 28, 1935 Mrs. Mary Houdek was born on August 29, 1867, in the town Lipany, district of Opocensky, Czechoslovakia, and died at her home in Munden November 22, 1935, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 24 days. Mary Houdek came to America with her parents in 1868. They stopped for a short time in the state of Iowa, then moved to Kansas and settled on a farm near Munden. She was married to Jerome Houdek in 1886. To this union five children were born, all of them girls, two of them died in childhood. They stayed on the farm until 1912, when they moved to Munden. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Jerome Houdek; her daughters, Mrs. Bert Trzicky of Belleville, Mrs. Jerry Trzicky of Munden, and Mrs. Thomas Moravek of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Anna Kasper of Narka; brother, Wesley Drasner of Academy, S. D., 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many other relatives and a host of friends. Short services were held at the home and public services at the Z.C.B.J. hall in Munden on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. George Kmecik.
