He was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He died in Portland, Oregon. He was buried 23 October 2004. His Obituary Wayne Dickerson Dean Oct. 31, 1925 - Oct. 14, 2004 Wayne Dickerson Dean of Tillamook died Thursday of natural causes. He was 78. Private services will be held. Mr. Dean was born Oct. 31, 1925, in American Fork, Utah. He married Louise Burge in 1946. Mr. Dean served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Dean Motors in Tillamook for 44 years. He was a member of the Tillamook City Council and planning board, the Campfire Girls Board and the Camp Makuala Board. He was the first president of the Tillamook Latter-Day Saints Church. He was active in several Tillamook PTAs and charities in Tillamook. He lived in Prineville for several years. Survivors include his wife of Tillamook; three sons, Scott of Myrtle Creek, Mark of Tillamook and Kevin of Hillsboro; a daughter, Caron Dean Shore of Newport Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Bern L. and Owen, both of American Fork, Utah, and Morrell of Springville, Utah; two sisters, Janice Mayne of American Fork and Dora Roberts of Missoula, Mont.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
