Thanks to contributor #48796369 George W. Fieldgrove, 32, of Grand Island died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt officiated. Interment followed at the Highland Cemetery in Ravenna. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Music was provided by Brian Whitecalf. Pallbearers were James D. Fieldgrove, Charles Leo Fieldgrove, Johnny Kevin Fieldgrove, Dick Ross Fieldgrove, Thomas Wesley Fieldgrove and Timothy Alan Perlinger. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Ross Fieldgrove, Jr., Travis Eugene Fieldgrove, William Allen Slagle, Robert Burson, Randy Lee Fieldgrove, Darrell A. Fieldgrove, Casey E. Pasco, Steven Craig Stoltenberg, Jr. and Wayne LeRoy Stoltenberg. Mr. Fieldgrove was born on May 30, 1967, at Grand Island to John Jr. and Louise (Modesill) Fieldgrove. He graduated from Centura High School in Cairo in 1985. He entered the U.S. Army and served at the Pentagon as secretary to the chief of staff of the U.S. Army until his discharge in March 1990. He returned to Grand Island and was employed in the Parris Trucking Co. office at the time of his death. He had been in failing health for the past year. Survivors include his parents, of Litchfield; five brothers, James of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dick of Central City, Charles of Litchfield and Thomas and Johnny, both of Grand Island; four sisters, Helen Louise Fieldgrove of Ord, Connie Jo Nolte of Oakley, Kan., Doris Fieldgrove of Grand Island and Beverly Slagle of Shelton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne LeRoy Fieldgrove and Amos Fieldgrove and his grandparents. Livington-Sondermann Funeral Home of Grand Island was in charge of arrangements. ∼ He was the son in law of Sarah Jean MacGeorge Audler . ∼
