Bio

Dorothy Hooper, 83, of Anton passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 23, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas, to Frank and Emillie Motl. Dorothy married Zade Hooper Nov. 27, 1948, in Anton, Texas. She was a beautician in Anton for 27 years. Dorothy enjoyed being with her family, especially doting on her grandsons and great-grandchildren, and doing for others. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anton. She is survived by her husband, Zade Hooper of Anton; three daughters, Zita Hooper, Denise Stephenson and husband Sammy, and Chloe Swan and husband Charlie, all of Anton; four grandsons, Clint Stephenson of Shallowater, Cory Stephenson of Munday, Brad Swan of Anton, and Jarrod Swan of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren, Hudson and Elliette Stephenson of Munday, and Brynlee and Branson Swan of Anton; a brother, Richard Motl of Clovis; two sisters, Dottie Byerley of Lubbock, and Jay Dean Peters of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Violet Pittman; and two brothers, Frank Motl and Cecil Motl. Private family services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Anton. Interment will follow in Anton Cemetery.
