Bio

Robert Honeyman Dandridge is my 4th g-grandfather. He is likely buried in Lawrence County, AL, where he died, possibly on the land where he lived at Brides Hill plantation. If there was a family graveyard there, no one knows and there is nothing to indicate one is there. We are looking for the proof of his birth to William and Anne [Bolling] Dandridge of Hanover County and Chesterfield County, VA. She may be buried at Cobbs Plantation, the Bolling family home, but the cemetery markers were destroyed by Union soldiers during the Civil War. Hanover County records [probate, etc.] were moved to Richmond during the Civil War for safe keeping, but, alas, Richmond burned and these documents were destroyed. Consequently, if William and Anne had wills, they were burned in Richmond. If any family member at the time received a copy, it may still exist. Looking for Bibles, probate or other documents that can definitively link Robert Honeyman Dandridge to his parents. From another Find A Grave contributor: Robert Honeyman Dandridge is my third great grandfather and here is a correct list of the children born to him and his wife (and cousin), Elizabeth: George Washington, b. VA, 1812, d. 1860, m. Elizabeth Norwood Mildred Ann, b. VA 1814, d. abt. 1870, m. Robert Creilly Jane Louise, b. Sept 1816, VA, m. 1. Reuben Allen, m2 Joseph B. Tardy John Terrell, b. 1831 AL, d. 1870, m. Octavia Vanhook Robert Honeyman, Jr. b. 1832, AL, d. abt.1841, age 9
