Sioux Falls, ~ Jackie "Jack" G. Snook, age 84, died on Wednesday, January 08, 2014 at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. John American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be open to the public from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday at George Boom Funeral Home. Family present visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday at the St. John American Lutheran Church. Jackie Glenn Snook was born on July 13, 1929 in Gering, NE to Chester G. and Gladys M. (Koenig) Snook. He received his education in Scottsbluff, NE. Following high school he enlisted into the United States Army and honorably served until being discharged in 1952. Jackie was united in marriage with Ruby Schuler on January 3, 1955 in Sterling, Colorado. The couple lived in the community of Sydney, NE until 1966. They then made their home in Sioux Falls. Jackie worked as an AT&T technician for 39-years retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Jackie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. He was an excellent electrician. He loved helping Ruby with her in-home daycare when he returned from work. Above all he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law, Jack Kirkpatrick and Don Stricker. George Boom Funeral Home web site
