Rita M. Jodlowski,(nee Jolkowski),88 June 29, 1925 ~ March 20, 2014 Rita Jolkowski lived in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1948, she was single, living at 5415 S. 20th Street, and working as a bookkeeper for Kresge's Department Store. In 1953, Omaha City Directories list her as still living alone, at 1919 Binney St. and working as a clerk for a life insurance company, in Omaha. The 1940 US Census shows her living with her parents, on a farm. They had lived on the same place, in Oak Creek Township, Sherman County, Nebraska, in 1935. The whole family, including her parents, were born in Nebraska. The family placed value on education. In 1940 Rita was only a freshman in high school, but she would complete high school. Joe, 56,head, farmer, 5th grade Mary, 55, wife, 6th grade Lloyd, 25, son, farm laborer, working for hire, 8th grade Irene, 21, dau, house work, working for hire, 8th grade Langie,18, son, in school, junior in high school Rita, 14, dau, in school, freshman in high school. Rita married Adam Stanley Jodlowski, and they moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Adam's parents had come from Poland, but he and his siblings were all born in Nebraska. After WWII, Adam came back to live with his parents in Omaha, Nebraska, and in 1949 was working as a post office clerk. Adam passed away Dec. 17, 2003, and Rita will be buried beside him, in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri. Rita Jodlowski was Baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Thursday, March 20, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Adam S. Jodlowski; dear mother of Deborah Grabeel (Craig), Richard (Toni) and Mark (late Donna); dear grandmother of Nathan and Justin Grabeel, Steven, Peter, Zachary, Jeremy and Nicholaus Jodlowski; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. Memorial Mass to be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 11223 Schuetz Rd., Creve Coeur, Missouri, on Friday, March 28 at 9:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Catholic Deaf Society, c/o Paul Blicharz, 1 Melshire Court, Oakland, MO 63122 or Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 100 N. Jefferson Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103.
