Thanks to contributor #47343179; Gerry Luft, 9-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Luft, who live 12 miles west of Fullerton, drowned in a farm pond late Tuesday. Sheriff Forest Williams, Fullerton, said Gerry and two other children were wading in shallow water when Gerry slipped and fell into deeper water. The other children gave the alarm, but rescue efforts in the deep water were futile. The Fullerton fire department recovered the body. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Trosper, Lincoln, are maternal grandparents of the youth. The Wolbach Messenger, June 14, 1962, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney
