Eva was the daughter of Joseph Burden and Mary Susan Stubblefield. I found a brother for her--Joseph Edmon (b.1861). The four of them appeared together on the 1870 Census, living in Center Township, Plymouth, Marshall County, Indiana. Joseph, aged 41, was farming for a living. Susan, aged 48, was home with their two children--Edmon, aged 9, and Eva, aged 6. Also there were John and James Blosingham, aged 24 and 20. The family was still living in Marshall County when the 1880 Census was enumerated. Joseph, aged 52, was busy farming. Susan, aged 60, was keeping house. Still at home with their parents were Joseph, aged 20 and Eva, aged 16. On 16 Sep 1894, Eva married Miles Pomeroy in Marshall County. It was a second marriage for Miles. He had previously married Cecelia W. Ashton on 1 Jan 1889 in Marshall County, and they had a daughter together named Hattie Erdine, born on 21 Oct 1889. The year after Eva and Miles married, they welcomed the first of their three children, daughter Edna Louise in 1895. Daughter Frances Marie followed in 1897. Their blended family appeared together on the 1900 Census, living in Center Township in Plymouth. Miles, aged 36, was busy with the farm. Eva, aged 36, reported that she had had two children and that both had survived to that census. With her at home were Miles and Cecelia's daughter Hattie, aged 10, and Miles and Eva's two daughters--Louise, aged 4, and Frances, aged 2. Also living with the family was 18-year-old boarder Herbert Jordan. Sadly, Miles was widowed for the second time when Eva died in 1905 at age 42, in childbirth with son William Ellsworth, who survived. When Miles died in 1920 at age 57, he was laid to rest between Eva and first wife Cecelia.
