Esther and Glenn Quick married in Madison County Iowa and had a daughter Shirley Jean Quick. Glenn died at the age of 25 as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident on July 4 in Des Moines Iowa. After that, Esther moved to Los Angeles California and made her home there with her daughter Shirley. She worked as an Elevator Operator at the May Company Department Store. Esther and John Miskey married on December 20, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. ........... Winterset Madisonian – February 5, 1964 Pg 3 Mrs. John Miskey, a native of Madison County, died last Thursday, Jan. 30, at a hospital in California following surgery. She was 58 years of age. Mrs. Miskey, the former Esther Husted was born in this county June 6, 1905, the daughter of Ora E. and Etna Husted and spent her early life here. She had lived in California for about 35 years. She is survived by her husband John Miskey, a daughter Shirley (Quick) Coberly; four grandchildren: Howard Dennis, Jerome Leslie, Cynthia Lynne, Crystal Annette, and two brothers Merrill Raymond Husted of Winterset and Cresley H. Husted of Des Moines. Services were held at the Wilson funeral home Monday afternoon with graveside services at the Winterset cemetery with Rev. W. A. Samp presiding. Contributor: Marty & Harley
