Bio

DRAPER--Lova Marie Nichols Witt, age 77, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully into her Heavenly Father's care on June 2, 1997 after over a year of fighting a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. She was born March 7, 1920 to Henry and Mary (Mollie) Brown Nichols in Draper, Utah. She attended schools in Draper and Sandy. She married Palmer Grant Witt on June 26, 1937. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away September 21, 1996. Mom was a friend to all. Her home was always open to family and friends to come visit and have a "bite to eat." Mom loved to cook, can the fruits and vegetables "Dad" grew in the garden and sew. She loved babies and children and enjoyed having them around her. All the grandchildren have a quilt made by "Grandma." She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as Primary President and twice as Relief Society President. She was also a visiting teacher for many years. She is survived by her children, Loretta (Douglas) Hunter; Loreen McCormick; Wesley (Claudia); grandchildren, Lorrie, Gavin, Bradley, Lynae, Clinton, Sam, Julie, Jason, Cheri, Russell, Wendy, Mindi, Jaquilin, Jennifer and John; 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Nichols; mother-in-law, Thelma Terry. Preceded in death by parents; three sisters and five brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Draper 12th LDS Ward Chapel, 12300 South 600 East. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Gary Call for his care and concern for mom.
