John A. Black, 50, died November 15, 1983 in Houston, Texas. He was born July 20, 1933 to William "Leo" Black and Ethel Brodnax Black in Bastrop, Louisiana. A U.S. Army veteran, a member of the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET), and member and Deacon of the Hidden Valley Baptist Church. John enjoyed fishing and camping. Funeral services to be held Nov. 16 at Heights Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Blundell officiating. Burial to follow in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Arkansas. Published Wednesday, November 16, 1983 Houston Post.
