Sharon Pies Junso, age 62, of Milbank, SD, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Milbank. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Sharon Marie Pies was born on November 9, 1950 to Rudolph and Evelyn (Althoff) Pies in Watertown, SD. She was raised on the "Ortley Creek Dairy" three and one half miles north of Ortley, SD, Roberts County. On the farm her chores were cooking, milking cows, ironing her brothers' jeans and helping her dad. She attended a one room school, Ortley #2 Country School in Ortley Township. Sharon was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Waubay, SD. She received a Bible in church and she enjoyed reading it often. On July 17, 1972 she married Larry G. Junso at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Waubay. To this union four children were born. Sharon and Larry lived in Watertown. Sharon became a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Watertown. Sharon worked as a Dietary Aid at the Senior Citizens Center for 11 years. It was there that she made some friends and enjoyed helping others. She then worked for two years at Jenkins Living Center in the Alzheimers unit in Watertown, and enjoyed her time spent with the residents. Sharon had been a resident at Golden Living Center in Milbank for the past two and one half years. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with her family and friends, embroidering pot holders, and looked forward to reading the monthly newsletters she received from the church. She also enjoyed baking casseroles, growing plants and flowers, doing word searches, collecting clocks, watches, and traveling. Sharon is survived by her daughter, April (Avery Chambers) Junso; four sisters, Darlene Olson, Diane (Terry) Anderson, Laurel (Duane) Pehl and Maxine (Harlow) Niles; three brothers, Darrell (Bonnie) Pies, Delwin (Ann) Pies and Gerald (Faye) Pies; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her fraternal twin brothers, Dale and Daniel; her children, Peggy Lynn Junso and two infants.
