Obituary courtesy of Find A Grave contributor Edith Guynes Stanley: (Published in Borger News-Herald, Thursday, October 16, 1980) El PASO - Graveside services for Thelma Ann Holcomb, 80, a pioneer Borger resident, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Evergreen East Cemetery. Mrs. Holcomb died today in Sierra Medical Hospital in El Paso. Mrs. Holcomb and her husband, George W. came to the Borger area in 1926. A native of Jacksboro, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Royal Neighbors of Amarillo. Survivors include two daughters, La Rona Maxwell of Borger and Thelma Demings of El Paso; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holcomb was preceded in death by her husband who died last year.
