Robert M. "Bob" Greskowiak, age 67, of Chisholm, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1946 in Grafton, ND to Sylvester and Evelyn (Oseth) Greskowiak. He was a longtime Hibbing and Chisholm resident. He was an Army Veteran having served in Korean during the Vietnam War. Bob was united in marriage on November 19, 1966 to Paulette J. Starken. Upon Bob's return from Korea in 1971, he worked a brief time at Erie Mining in the Computer Department. In 1972 he and his small family re-located back to Hibbing where he worked for Noramco as a senior draftsman/designer. He changed employers and worked at Barr Engineering for some years. He was the Construction Engineer for the Chopstick Factory while it was being built. After the finishing of the construction, he again returned to Barr Engineering and worked on several construction supervisions including the Paper Mill in International Falls, Blandin in Grand Rapids and the construction of the Deerwood Pressboards Company. He retired from his engineering and construction work, and in 2005 focused his work time on his Central Liquor Store and Shipping Business, as well as Rolling Thunder. He worked there until his untimely death. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was active serving as a church usher. He was a member of the Chisholm American Legion Press-Lloyd Post #247, the Chisholm Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and the Chisholm Chamber of Commerce. He was proud of receiving an award for the most beautiful yard contest in 2013. Bob was loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife – Paulette; his children – Rob Greskowiak, Tami (Jason) Lundblad, Angie (Cale) Nelson, Laura (Bill) Dragony, Jerad (Brittany) Greskowiak; 9 grandchildren – Heavin, Nathanial, Derek, Braiden, Bella, Brent, Avani, Aveah and Breena; 2 brothers – Sylvester (Dee) and Duane (Luella) Greskowiak; sisters-in-law – Donna Greskowiak and Carla Starken; mother-in-law – Lucille Starken; numerous nieces, nephews, and his special dogs "kids" Cesar, Cleo, and Princess. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law; his daughter – Mary; 3 brothers – Maurice, Ardell and Marvin; and by one brother-in-law – Darrel Starken. Inurnment will be in Chisholm Cemetery at a later date.
