Clea Rasmussen passed away on January 30, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long struggle with cancer. She was born October 11, 1943 in Orem, Utah and graduated from Orem High School in 1961. Her first job was with Tracy Collins Bank in the insurance department and it was the beginning of twenty-six-year career in banking. Her effectiveness helped raise the glass ceiling in gender employment. She was the youngest and first female Vice President of Zion's First National Bank and the first female and Vice President Branch Manager of Tracy Collins Bank downtown and an Executive Vice President of Sandy State Bank. She served on the Board of Directors of Hidden Valley Country Club and in 1991 she became the first female president of the club. She was the second woman to serve on the Board of Directors of the Utah Golf Association, serving from 1994 through 2003 and was vice president for three years. In that capacity, she became proficient in administering the USGA Rules of Golf at the state's top golf tournaments, including UGA, USGA, and PGA events. She had a wide variety of interests and loved the friendly competition of golf, bowling, and bridge. She was an avid reader and filled idle moments with cross stitching. In 1975, she met the love of her life, Ken Edgel Rasmussen, and they married in 1977. They had a wonderful, romantic, and active life together until Ken's death in February 2013. They skied, golfed, and traveled together and spent some winter time in their St. George home. They both agreed that the key to their marital happiness was 'we talked.' Her last message: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming 'WOOO HOOO, what a ride!" Clea was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Martell and Beula Keetch; and two brothers, Dee Ketch and Boyd Keetch. She is survived by her best friend and loving daughter, Janice; her siblings she loved so much: brother, Jim (Kitsy) Keetch; and sisters, VaLoy Menlove and Merla Kay Bolling; many nephews and nieces; a very special friend, Graydon Jensen; sisters-in-law, Jane Keetch, Martha Keetch, and Susan (David) Amidon; brother-in-law, Phil (Lois) Rasmussen; and her loving friends from golf and bridge…the Usual Suspects. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy. There will also be a viewing held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City. A celebration of life will follow the graveside services at about 2:30 p.m. at Hidden Valley Country Club, 11820 South Highland Drive, Sandy.
