Bio

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on February 3, 2014 in Taylorsville. Born June 6, 1933 in Springville to Leo and Lola Brown Weight. Glen graduated from Springville High, served as an LDS Missionary in Helsinki Finland, served in the U.S. Army and graduated from USU with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He married Hazel McIntosh in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 6, 1959. Glen worked for Thiokol, Kennecott, Hercules, UTA, and the LDS Church. He served in many church positions, including Bishop and Stake President. He had the joy of serving three LDS missions alongside his wife in Finland. His family includes his wife of fifty-five years; children; Jill (Robert) Sheffer, Debra (Leo) Durkin, Peggy (deceased), Cheri Brooks, Greg (Cheryl) Weight, Pamela (Troy) Wertz, Elizabeth (David) Richens, Laura (Greg) Steinicke, Annette (Wyatt) Germer, James (Jami) Weight; 48 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister Norma Mecham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bennion First Ward Chapel, 3045 West Bernina Drive (5820 South). Viewings will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), and Saturday at the church from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Interment: Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
