Paul F. Krause of Mahaska, died March 1, 1959, at the age of 67 years and 8 months at a Lincoln hospital, following an operation. Funeral services were March 4, in the. Zion American Lutheran church in Hubbell. Burial was in the Zion cemetery, northeast of Hubbell. Paul, the eldest son of Herman and Fredericka Krause, born and baptized in Germany, came to America when three months old, and was confirmed in the Evangelical church north of Jansen......... On October 26, 1916, he married Emilie Ann Malchow of Ellis. They lived a number of years at Ellis and Jansen, then moved to a farm northwest of Mahaska, where they lived 20 years before moving to their present home two years ago in Mahaska. Mr. Krause was a Deacon of the church and had been a delegate to several conventions. Survivors are his wife; six children, Hilda, Mrs. Orville Rothmeyer of Powell, Ruth, Mrs. Lavern Witt of Hubbell, Albert, Harvey and Leon of Gilead and Melvin of Manitou Springs, 10 grandchildren; also his aged mother, Mrs. Herman Krause: 10 brothers and sisters, Ernstena, Mrs. H. D. Paul, Herman Krause, Hattie, Mrs.Emil Grummert, Emilie, Mrs. Arthur Fasse, Martha, Mrs F. A. Malchow, all of Beatrice; Augusta, Mrs. Max Ruhnke and William Krause of Fairbury, Marie, Mrs. D. B. Malchow. and Henry Krause of Plymouth. Preceding him in death were his father, two sisters and one brother. Rev. Edward Hiller presided at the service, Mrs. Myron Deeke was organist and pallbearers were Elmer Malchow, Norman Malchow, Clarence Mal-1 chow, Vernon Krause, Duane Krause and Irvin Ruhnke.
