His obit John B. Mason, 71, Dies in Dallas John B. Mason, 71, Abilene resident for 44 years, died Friday at 11:30 p.m. in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Dallas. He had been a patient three weeks. Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Elliott's chapel of Memories with Alex Sebo of the Jehovah's Witnesses presiding. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park. Mr. Mason was born Jan. 18,1891, in Eastland County. He married Margie Wimberly in Winters in 1936. Their home here is at 1142 Houston St. Mr. Mason was employed at Hendrick memorial Hospital eight years as a carpenter before retirement in 1956. Survivors include the wife; one step-son, James Wimberly of Dallas; three brothers, G.A. of Mincola, Ted of Lubbock and Charles of Electra; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Roberts of 1001 S. 12th St and Mrs. Lillie Boles of Lubbock; two half-sisters, Mrs. R.L. Lofton of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Willie Parker of Hamlin; and one step-grandchild.
