Dorothy Martha Stavinoha Novosad, 89, of Ganado, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010. She was born on Feb. 5, 1920, in Louise, to the late Louis and Mary Jurasek Stavinoha. She married Joe R. Novosad on Nov. 18,1940, in Hillje. She was a homemaker and a member of Assumption Catholic Church. Survivors: son, James C. Novosad and wife Linda of Ganado, and Ronald J. Novosad and wife Sandra of Richmond; grandchildren, Scott G. Novosad and wife Sasha of Houston, and Leia R. Novosad of Austin; great-grandchild, Zayne A. Novosad of Houston; sister, Annie Novosad of Ganado; and sister-in-law, Veronika Stavinoha of Louise. Preceded in death by: parents; husband; infant daughter, JoAnn; brothers, Emil, Willie, Albert, Victor and Johnnie Stavinoha; sisters, Lena Piwonka and Vlasta Kaspar. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 19, with a rosary at 6 p.m. at the Ganado Funeral Home in Ganado. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado, the Rev. Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bill Novosad, Cal Ednerli, Wayne Bubela, Mike Hoskins, and Gary Teel. Memorials: Ganado Volunteer Ambulance Service or Assumption Catholic Church.
