From The Palmer (Nebraska) Journal, March 11, 1954, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Another former Palmer citizen has gone to his reward. J. A. Tuttle, known to his friends as "Lon" passed away at his home at Laverne, California, Saturday night March 6. Mr. Tuttle, a brother of Mrs. Wm. Semple of Palmer, was once a blacksmith in Palmer. He lived in what is now the Grace Kunze house in the south part of Palmer. We are told that he built the cement block blacksmith building on the north side of the street, now owned by J. S. Curren. Also he lived for a time on the farm southeast of Palmer, where Harry Pullen now lives. He operated a blacksmith shop at Brayton a few years in the 20's or 30's.
