The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), March 1, 1956, p. 6, col. 6 - 8 Services Conducted For Frank Brabec Sr., 73 Frank J. Brabec, 73, of Brainard, died Sunday, Feb. 19, at the home of his son, Frank R. Brabec of David City. His death followed a year's illness. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard, by the Rev. Charles Rada. Msgr. Wm. Murphy was also in the sanctuary. Burial was at Saint Francis Cemetery, Center. The pallbearers were Joe Hotovy, Frank Helgoth, Henry Vandenberg, Earl Fox, Anthony Lettellier and Tom Flynn. Mr. Brabec, a native of Czechoslovakia, had been a resident of Butler county since 1889. Surviving him are his widow, Katherine Brabec; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Lavicky, Seward; two sons, Frank R. Brabec, David City and Joseph Brabec of Albert City, Ia.; eleven grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Sabata of David City. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amelia Sabata Brabec and three sisters.
