BRABEC PASSED ON DIED AFTER A LONG ILLNESS Funeral Services Were Held on Wednesday, Nov. 20 Mrs. Frank Brabec, living a few miles southeast of David City, passed away in St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha shortly after 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Nov. 17, after a long illness. She had been in poor health for the past year, her last illness being of two months duration. She was taken to Omaha a few weeks ago and underwent a surgical operation there. Her death was from sarcoma of the head of the pancreas. Funeral services for Mrs. Brabec were held at 10:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, in St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, in charge of Rev. Patrick Harte, of the Center Catholic church. Frank, Joe, Robert and Charles Sabata, brothers of Mrs. Brabec, and Joe Bubak and John Theewen, brothers-in-law, were the pallbearers. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery in Center township. At the time of her death Mrs. Brabec was aged 40 years, 5 months and 24 days. She had always lived in Butler county, having been born at Brainard, a daughter of Frank and Mary Sabata. She is survived by her husband and three children, one daughter, Martha, and two sons, Frank and Joseph, and by one sister, Mrs. Joe Bubak, of Garrison, and five brothers, Frank, Joe, John and Robert Sabata, living near Brainard, and Charles Sabata, living near Rising City. Her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sabata, Sr., living in Brainard, also survive her.
