Bio

Irvy was the fifth of nine children born to Noah Hampton Ledbetter and Amanda C. "Mandy" Johnson Ledbetter. He married 1st Martha Pearl Dareing on Oct. 26, 1919 in Washington County, Arkansas. They had one son, Charles, but separated soon after, when he moved to Oklahoma to work in the coal mines. He married 2nd Mrs. Aimee White Mathis on Oct. 2, 1925 in Columbus, Kansas, after returning from a stint of fruit picking in San Juan Capistrano, California. They settled in the Welch/Vinita area of Oklahoma and had two children. In later years, he was the town jailer and loved to smoke "Swisher Sweets".
