Memorial updated October 29, 2014: Son of John Neff and Anna Mary/Mary Anna Neff. Note: although the headstone inscription has "1856" for the birth year, it appears evident from death record and census information that the actual birth took place in or about October 1846 (in Ohio per the death record). The age at death per the death record was entered at 54y 6m. Based on this information, this memorial is being updated to use October 1846 for the DOB. Exactly what day of the month of October 1846 is not able to be calculated using just the death record information, since it was rounded to only the years and months. Husband of Ida Elcena West Neff. They were married on July 6, 1872 in Jefferson county, Iowa (marriage license # 3879). Their first daughter, Edith, was born the following November 20, 1872.
