Bio

James N. ULAND was born in Virginia, June 23, 1826. He moved with his parents to Indiana at the age of two years. He was married to Miss Magdalene MORRIS, March 23, 1847. To his union were born ten children, two boys and eight girls. This wife died in January, 1873. He was then married to Barbara MARTINDALE, and she died Jan. 29, 1877. To this union was born one child. The deceased was again married to Elizabeth MATTHEWS, to which union was born one child. Mr. ULAND professed religion when young and lived a good, honest christian and was willing to die; ready to lean on the arm of Jesus in whom he had always had such entire trust. He died Feb. 27, 1910, aged eight-four years, eight months and four days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. D. CRANE, Feb. 28, at Ridgeport church. Interment in the Ridgeport cemetery.
