Bio

Seven children were born to Jonas and Elizabeth. In the 1820s Jonas and Elizabeth, along with the families of Frederick Bingham (brother of Elizabeth), Josiah Shields (brother-in-law) and Elizabeth's parents, Edmond and Lucy Bays Bingham, started the long journey to Greene Co, Indiana. It has been reported that Jonas died on the way at Poplar Camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This left Elizabeth Uland a widow. She and her seven children continued the journey with her family to Indiana.
