Services for Marvin Clayton "Buck" Kennedy Jr. were officiated by Dr. Stephen Holcombe and Rev. Danny Suiter; burial followed in Land of Memory Cemetery. He was born to Marvin Clayton Kennedy Sr. and Jessie Welch Kennedy. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and was a member of the Gideons. He was retired from Getty Oil with 30 plus years of service. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Hallobee Poff Kennedy; sons, Randy Kennedy and Jim Handorf; four brothers, Tom, Ovie, Shirley and Thurman Kennedy. He is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Handorf Kennedy; daughters Vanessa Stone, Glennell Rials and Sherry Morse; sons, Kim Kennedy, Lloyd Handorf Jr. and Dale Handorf; sister Eva Collier and numerous extended family.
