Abelino "Poncho" Barrera, 79 of Blessing, passed away on December 8, 2013. He was born on October 26, 1934 in Yorktown to the late Francisco and Teresa Rodriguez Barrera. He was a retired truck driver and had served in the Army National Guard. He was well known in the area as a bass guitar player with numerous bands for the past 50 years. He was an avid gardener and loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lucille Long, second wife Leona Barrera, sisters Nives Farias and Alicia Monsivias.
