Obituary for John H. Stout; OLD CITIZEN PASSED AWAY IN MADILL J. H. Stout, age 92, passed away in the home of his son, Bud Stout at Madill, Oklahoma, July 4th about six o'clock. Mr. Stout, an old Confederate Soldier, was the oldest of 9 boys and outlived all them of them. He was married seven times during his long life, but survived all of his wives. The deceased enjoyed good health considering his age up until the day of his death, when he declined to eat his meals. During the past year he had not been able to walk due to his old age. He is survived by four sons, Bud Stout of Madill, George Stout of Avery, Texas, Will Stout of Texas and Ed Stout of Broken Bow. Frank Stout of this city is a grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at Madill, Oklahoma today (Thursday) Internment at the Madill Cemetery, On 12 Oct 1861 he enlisted as Private, Company F, 9th Texas Infantry, CSA per his sworn statement for Confederate Pension from the State of Texas and Oklahoma.
