Funeral services were held at the St Joseph Catholic Church in TL on Nov 6 for Wilhelm Emery Lipp who died while serving with the Armed Forces in Tokyo, Japan. Fr Healy read the last rites. Burial was in St Joseph cemetery. Graveside military were conducted by Gene Gelino Post. Pallbearers: Eugene Hulm, Clarence Grage, Walter Grage, Zachius Schafer, Wilfred Stoick, and Nick Schafer. The body of Pvt. Lipp arrived in Mobridge, was met and escorted to TL by 8 members of TL Post. Wilhelm Emery Lipp was born April 4, 1926, in Strasburg, ND, the fourth of 11 children of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Lipp. He was a paratrooper stationed in Japan at the time of death, Aug 27. He is survived by father and step-mother: Mr. and Mrs. Emery Lipp of TL; three brothers: John of Lead; Eugene serving with Army in Germany; Andrew of TL; seven sisters: Betty of Washington, D.C.; Agnes of Los Angeles, CA; Mary Ellison of Miles City, MT; Angeline, Margaret Rose, Helen and Teresa all at home; half-sister: Cecelia; three step-brothers: Peter, Lee and Elmer Fischer. Willie's mother preceded him in death in 1938.
