Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley J. Kalisek age 93 of Howells, NE will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, NE. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service all at the church. There will be a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge, NE is handling the arrangements for the family. Stanley passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson, NE. Stanley John Kalisek was born on September 15, 1920 in rural Cuming Co., Nebraska to Stephen and Mary (Kulhanek) Kalisek. He attended Cuming Co. Rural School District #51. He farmed with his father and continued farming after his father's death. On September 7, 1943, he was united in marriage to Wilma F. Sindelar at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, NE. He continued farming until 1963 and later that year became the head custodian for Howells Public Schools, retiring in 1985. He also would till gardens, remove snow and haul trash for residents of Howells for several years. Stanley was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, had served as President for Unit 2 of the Nebraska State Custodial Association for 6 years, Vice-President of the Mutual Aid Insurance for Custodians for 3 years and served on the Board of Directors for 5 years. He enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, fishing, woodworking, making his own wine and beer, and talking on his CB radio, his handle was "Old Cus'). Stanley loved to take the grandkids camping. Survivors include- Son-Duane and wife Elaine Kalisek of Fremont, NE and family Corey and wife Shari Kalisek Paul Kalisek and step daughter-Darian Hasen Mindy and husband Jim Thayer Brenda and husband Brian Wilberding and daughter Kalise Daughter-Joan and husband Darryl Schlautman of Pilger, NE and family Jeff and wife Jenine Schlautman and children-Ryan, Jacob & Kaitlyn Jenny Schnase and children-Madison, Sydney & Tyler Jess and wife Christina Schlautman and children Logan, Kennedy & Dawson Brother-Robert Kalisek of Fremont, NE Sisters- Blanche Uher of Schuyler, NE Lydia and husband Mel Peitzmeier of Fremont, NE Sister-in-law- Wilma Kalisek of Dodge, NE Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, wife- Wilma F. Kalisek, and brother-Rynold Kalisek.
