James L. Cupp February 24, 1934 ~ November 30, 2013 James Cupp, 79, of Whitney passed away November 30, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 24, 1934 in Colorado City, Texas to Barney and Rosa Kelley Cupp. James married Vera Long on May 14, 1952 in Colorado City. He served in the National Guard prior to serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and camping and was an avid animal lover and Dallas Cowboy fan. He also enjoyed building all types of things and above all he had an unconditional love for his family. James was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and the Whitney V.F.W. Post and the Disabled American Veterans. Preceding him in death were his parents and sisters, Doris Mize and Patsy McCarty. Survivors include his wife, Vera Cupp, children; Rhonda Gary, Terri Ross, sister, Elaine Lawler, five grand children and ten great-grand children. Funeral services will be held December 2, 2013 at the Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park in Whitney, Texas...M_M
