Bio
Patricia Lou (Myers) Lehecka, 81, of Lincoln, passed away surrounded by her loving family November 16, 2013. She was born March 9, 1932 in Arcadia, Neb., to Merle and Elsie (Hagey) Myers. Pat attended rural schools in Valley County near Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1948. Pat was united in marriage to Lloyd Lehecka on June 15, 1952, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln. To this union two children were born, son, Chris and daughter, Gina Marie. Pat graduated with an Associate Degree from Southeast Community College, Lincoln, in 1983 and received Certified Educational Office Employee certification from the National Association of Educational Office Personnel in 1985. Pat was employed as a secretary at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for 27 years; Cushman Motor Works-Lincoln for seven years and other businesses prior to that time. After retiring in 1995, she volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Nebraska State Historical Society, and Gere Public Library. Pat was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church; University of Nebraska Office Personnel Association; Lincoln/Lancaster County Genealogy Society; Nebraska State Historical Society; Norden Club of Lincoln; and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She was a former member of Nebraska Educational Office Personnel Association; National Association of Educational Office Personnel; and the Bess Streeter Aldrich Society. Pat had many hobbies and interests in her lifetime: travel, bridge and pitch, genealogy, antiques and collections, cooking, sports, UNL football, fishing, nature and animals, but family was most important to her. Pat is survived by her husband, Lloyd; children and spouses, Chris and Linda Lehecka of Katy, Texas and Gina and Kent Clymer of David City, Neb.; sister, JoAnn Gloor of Lee's Summit, Mo.; sister, Lydia Bruha of Arcadia; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lehecka, Jason Lehecka and wife, Emily, Kyle Clymer, and Amanda Clymer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law; and parents-in-law, Vaclav and Barbara Lehecka. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 23, 11:30 a.m., Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 So. 14th St. Visitation: Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Memorials in Pat's name can be sent to Saint Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Arcadia United Methodist Church, or The Cat House (Cat Shelter).
